Marvel Rivals' Spring Festival celebration will add new skins and a new soccer game mode

We knew that Marvel Rivals was going to get creative with its new game modes, but getting to play a game of soccer? That was never in the cards. Okay, well, it's not really soccer, but the inspiration is plenty clear. Accompanying the new gamemode are other various additions, most notably the new themed skins.

Marvel Rivals seems fairly committed to hosting these seasonal events, so these will likely continue to be regular occurences. Much like with the winter celebration, there are plenty of free goodies to acquire. For example, the spring Star-Lord is free for all players. This event will run from January 23, 2025 to February 14, 2025.

The New Spring Festival Skins In Marvel Rivals

Black Widow, Iron Fist, and Star-Lord will all be getting new skins in this Spring Festival. Black Widow and Iron Fist's skins will also come with unique MVP animations. Theme-wise, Rivals is sticking to its Chinese roots. This event is essentially an extension of the Lunar New Year bundles that they've added recently. There's just a lot more to actually interact with here.

Marvel Rivals Adds Soccer As A Game Mode

The new soccer-like game mode in Marvel Rivals will involve 3v3 matches. No dribbling is required as the ball will essentially stick to the player. From there, players will have various options. They can simply move forward with the ball, but they can also drop it or pass it to another player. Now, if you get hit, you will lose possession of the ball. It's unclear if opponents will immediately gather control of the lost ball, but, most likely, they'll have some kind of advantage after said action.

Details regarding this game mode are still a bit fuzzy. We don't actually even know if other characters can be used in this mode. It may very well be possible that all games must have Black Widow, Iron Fist, and Star-Lord on both teams. Still, though, this game mode should be plenty of fun. Players will also probably need to grind it to get that new Star-Lord skin.

In the new soccer game mode in Marvel Rivals, you can steal the ball from opposing players to gather possession
